August 2009 Release - Calendar View - Surveys - Dashboard

Mark Mader - Aug 13 2009 - 10:37pm

August is turning out to be a big month for introducing new capabilities in Smartsheet.  Three of the four major features being released this month (Calendar View, Dashboard, and Search) are new while the investment in Smartforms is a significant update to an existing feature. The following are now available and Search will be released to all users by late August, 2009.

Calendar View

Displaying, managing, and printing sheet information in a Calendar has been a heavily requested feature. The Calendar view enables you to toggle between grid and calendar layout for a sheet. Rows with dates are displayed and the option to overlay your reminders is also available. Click File > Print to output the calendar to printable .PDF file.

Survey Forms (a.k.a. 'Smartforms')

Smartforms enable you to collect data for a sheet through a web form. They can be used for numerous workflows such as gathering feedback, surveying employees and customers, or capturing leads. In addition to a host of core survey features - Smartforms enable you to receive files. Click on a sheet's Smartform options link (in the Sharing tab) to see what's possible. A Smartform overview video can be found in the Video Help section of online help.

Dashboard

The dashboard is viewable in your Home tab and provides the following elements that you can arrange:

  • My Reminders - See all your reminders across your sheets. (Rt-click on a row in any sheet to set a reminder)
  • Recently Updated Sheets - A list of your sheets, in order of last updated.
  • My Favorite Rows - Flag rows on any sheet to display in your dashboard. (Rt-click on a row to mark it as a Favorite)
  • Personal To Do List - a simple punch list that you can also access from anywhere in Smartsheet. (Launch the list at anytime from My Account > My To Do List)
