Logging into Smartsheet
Smartsheet can be accessed from any mobile browser. There is no app to download.

To log into Smartsheet:
- Go to www.smartsheet.com or www.smartsheet.com/b/m. The Smartsheet Mobile Login page appears. Tip: Bookmark this page so you can access whenever you need to.
- Enter your email address in the Email field.
- Enter your password in the Password field. Tip: To bypass entering your login information the next time you come to this page, select the Stay signed in option.
- Touch Log In. Tip: Alternately, you can login via Google or Google Apps by touching the respective button beneath the login fields.
Note: Touch Forget password? if you have forgotten your password. You will be prompted to enter your email address and a security code, and then Smartsheet will send you an email with an activation link that allows you to enter a new password for your account.
Home Screen
The Home screen allows you to view all sheets, reports, folders and workspaces to which you have access; view your Smartsheet account details, search for items, and view recently accessed items.

The Home screen contains the following items:
- Search: Click the Search icon to go to the search page. Type your search criteria in the text box and then touch your Enter key.
- Note: The Search icon is available throughout Smartsheet for search purposes.
- Sheets/Reports/Folders/Workspaces: Click the Sheets icon to view all the sheets, reports, folders and workspaces to which you have access. To view an item, click the item name.
- Account: Click the Settings icon to view your account details, such as your name, email address, and plan type. From this page, touch Sign Out to sign out of Smartsheet.
- Recent Items: This section allows you to view recently opened items. To view an item, click the item name.
Search
You can use the search feature to quickly find sheet and report names, row contents, attachment names, and discussions.
To conduct a search:
- Click the Search icon. The Search field appears.
- Enter your search criteria in the search field and then tap [Enter]. Your search results appear. Note: Your search results are grouped by sheet.
- Click on an item to open that item. Tip: Click Back to return to the search results.
Note: Conducting a search from the Home screen searches across all sheets to which you have access. Conducting a search from a sheet only searches the contents of that sheet.
Sheet Actions
You can perform the following actions on sheets:
- View sheets in a list or in a grid.
- Scroll down to view more rows.
- Touch a row to view the row contents.
- Add a row.
- Email a sheet.
- View a sheet’s attachments.
- View a sheet’s discussions and add comments.
List View vs. Grid View
You can view each sheet by list view or grid view by clicking the appropriate icon at the top of each sheet. The list and grid view icons are displayed below.
- List view displays all rows in a list. Click on a row to view or edit cells in that row.
- Grid view displays all rows and cell data in a grid.

Opening Row View
From a sheet’s list view, touch a row to open row view. Row view allows you to view and edit cell data for that row.
Working with Sheets
Each sheet contains a Menu icon in the upper right. When you click this icon, a menu appears with five options: Add Row, Send Sheet, Sheet Attachments, Sheet Discussions and Refresh.
Tip: Click Go to Home at the bottom of a sheet to return to the Home screen. Click the the Search icon to search the contents of the sheet.
Add Row
The Add Row link allows you to add a row to the sheet. Enter row data and then click Save or Save and New to add an additional row.
Send Sheet
This link allows you to email the sheet as an attachment to another user for viewing purposes.
To email a sheet:
1. From the sheet you want to email, click the Menu icon.
2. Click Send Sheet. The Send Sheet form appears.
3. Enter the email address(es) you want to send the sheet to in the To field.
Tip: Use semicolons to separate email addresses.
4. Edit the sheet name in the Subject field, if necessary.
5. Enter an email message in the third field, if necessary.
6. Select whether you want to attach the sheet as a PDF or Excel by touching the appropriate option in the Attach as field.
Tip: Select the CC me option if you want to receive a copy of the email.
7. Click Send. The sheet is sent to the email address(es) you specified.
Sheet Attachments
This link allows you to view all attachments on the sheet. Touch an attachment to open it.
Note: Depending on your phone type, certain file types (e.g., images) may be opened while others can be downloaded.
Sheet Discussions
This link allows you to view all discussions for any row in the sheet and add comments. Touch a discussion to view it. You can add a comment by entering your comment in the text field and then clicking Save.
Row Actions
- You can perform the following actions on rows:
- Edit row data.
- Create a new row.
- Scroll down to view more fields.
- Email a row.
- View a row’s attachments.
- View a row’s discussions and add a comment.
Working with Rows
Each row has the following icons/links: Edit, Send Row, View Row Attachments, and View/Add Row Discussions.
Edit
This allows you to edit the cell data in a row. After editing the data, click Save or Save and New to create an additional row.
Send Row
The Email icon allows you to email the row to another user for viewing purposes. Note: The user who receives the row can only view it, not edit it.
To email a row:
- From the row you want to email, click the Email icon. The Send Row form appears.
- Enter the email address(es) you want to send the row to in the To field. Tip: Use semicolons to separate email addresses.
- Edit the row name in the Subject field, if necessary.
- Edit the email message in the third field, if necessary.
- Select the options to include links to row attachments and row discussions, if necessary. Tip: Select the CC me option if you want to receive a copy of the email.
- Click Send. The row is sent to the email address(es) you specified.
Row Attachments
The Attachment button allows you to view all attachments for the specific row. Touch an attachment to open it.

Row Discussions
The Discussion button allows you to view all discussions for the specific row and add comments. Touch a discussion to view it. You can add a comment by entering your comment in the text field and then clicking Save.
