BELLEVUE, Wash. - April 2, 2009 - Smartsheet.com, a provider of SaaS-based work management tools, has launched support for sending files via web links, further simplifying how people share digital files.
Smartsheet File Transfer is immediately available to all free and paid plan subscribers. There is no limit to the number of files users can store, send, or have downloaded. File size support ranges from 30mb per file for free accounts to over 100mb for Premium accounts.
“Since inception, Smartsheet has enabled its customers to store and share digital files in the context of the work they manage. Enabling people to securely send large files is the logical next step and something for which there is proven demand,” said Mark Mader, CEO of Smartsheet.com.
Customer segments in which the feature has been heavily adopted include Web Design, Consulting, Manufacturing, and Online Services. “The ability to send links to multiple files via e-mail is a simple and secure way to deliver content – and avoids the attachment file size limitations imposed by e-mail systems,” says Mader.
Smartsheet’s file storage, contextual file sharing, and newly released secure file transfer is powered by Amazon Web Service’s S3 platform.
