Smartsheet Announces Integration with Box

Bellevue, Wash., February 1, 2012 -- Whether you manage client projects, team task lists, operational processes, deal rooms or other types of work, it just became easier to collaborate and share information with others.

Smartsheet.com, a leading online project management tool provider today announced a new product integration with Box’s popular cloud collaboration and file storage service. With the two leading cloud apps tightly integrated, teams at organizations of all sizes can easily share and collaborate on files related to specific projects with both internal staff and external collaborators, such as vendors, clients, and contractors.

“Accessing files in the context of the work you’re managing saves time and is at the heart of  organizational productivity,” said Mark Mader, CEO of Smartsheet. “Businesses have well-defined expectations that cloud-based tools are easy to use, secure and work how they do. Our partnership with Box brings together two of the most powerful collaboration solutions, provides the users with a cohesive experience, and delivers on that promise.”

From within Smartsheet’s web-based project management tool, users can now find a relevant document or entire folders of documents from Box and link it directly to projects or rows in Smartsheet.  All changes made to the document in Box are instantly available in Smartsheet, without the need to upload new versions. With a single mouse click, Smartsheet users can then share those files further using Smartsheet’s project sharing and row sending capabilities.
