Employee Spotlight: Meet Jeana Kruszynski, Senior Commercial Sales Manager

The opportunity is yours for the taking, or so the saying goes. And Jeana Kruszynski agrees. 

Little did she know that her 5 a.m. Seattle Orange Theory workouts, where she met one of Smartsheet’s founders, would take her to Boston, then London, and change the trajectory of her career. 

Jeana now works in Smartsheet’s London office as a senior commercial sales manager, where she collaborates across functions to help businesses of all sizes realize the value of Smartsheet. 

I connected with Jeana to learn more about her transatlantic move, Smartsheet’s sales team, and the opportunities for the taking at Smartsheet.

In one sentence, what’s your job right now? 

My job, in a nutshell, is to ramp up our London commercial sales team, so they’re best equipped to demonstrate the value of Smartsheet to current and potential customers and how it can improve the way they work. 

What do you enjoy most about your job? 

It’s definitely the people I work with and learn from every day — including my peers, leadership, and team. 

I also love the dynamic nature of our business, because it’s always different and very fast-paced.

What does a typical day look like? 

The great part about sales is that every day is different. I start my week with one-on-one and team meetings, but on average, the majority of my time is spent with current and potential customers, helping them understand the benefits of Smartsheet in their role, and to their team and company. 

How do you use Smartsheet in your daily work? What’s your favorite feature? 

I check my sales forecast sheet, which is linked to Salesforce through the Connector, every hour. I love the ability to see how I am pacing against my goals for the month, quarter, and year. It’s highly motivating!

What is the biggest perk of Smartsheet’s London office? 

We are still small (but growing!), so I value the cross-functional collaboration and the ability to move quickly. It’s also amazing to work in the center of London!

How have you been able to learn and grow at Smartsheet? 

For the last four and a half years, and still today, Smartsheet has been the right place at the right time for me — and it can be for every employee. That said, it’s 100% about what you do with the opportunity. 

Smartsheet will give you the toolkit to grow and succeed, but as an employee, it’s your responsibility to execute.  

What has been one of your proudest moments working at Smartsheet? 

There are so many to choose from, but one that stands out would be the day I picked up the WeWork keys in Boston. Seeing the Boston office grow from a few individuals to over 200 in two years was an incredible experience to be a part of and a huge reason why I chose to take the role in London this year. Being a part of something from the ground up, and seeing people develop and take true accountability in their work energizes me. I think any time you are in a new market or country, that type of environment is amplified because everything and everyone is very new. 

What’s your favorite Smartsheet value and how do you see it put into action?

Driven. Every day I come to Smartsheet, I’m so inspired by the people around me who genuinely want to move the needle and find a way to make it happen. I love the grit!

What’s your advice for anyone looking to join Smartsheet? 

Realize the opportunity at Smartsheet. Every person here has the potential to move the needle as we continue to grow.

Who is someone you admire at Smartsheet and why? 

This is such a hard question as there are about 10 people that come to mind. That said, the person who stands out to me the most would be Jolene Marshall, our vice president of legal, because she has serious grit. She’s in the trenches making it happen when people really need her. Her first week of work, she was thrown right in on one of my deals, and she worked tirelessly to make it happen!
