For over 20 years, Smartsheet has helped people and teams achieve–well, anything. From seamless work management to smart, scalable solutions, we’ve always worked with flow. We’re building tools that empower teams to automate the manual, uncover insights, and scale smarter. But more than that, we’re creating space– space to think big, take action, and unlock the kind of work that truly matters. Because when challenge meets purpose, and passion turns into progress, that’s magic at work, and it’s what we show up for everyday.
Smartsheet is looking for an experienced leader who thrives in evolving environments and is excited to establish, scale, and mature demand-based event marketing capabilities. This role has expanded scope beyond sponsorship and corporate events. It sits at the intersection of strategy and execution of our global marketing events with a strong focus on qualified pipeline and revenue. As a senior leader and strategic consultant, you will define what success looks like for the Global Demand Events Marketing team and contribute to the operating model, programs, and execution frameworks required to deliver predictable pipeline impact across our customers.
You will balance global consistency with account-specific nuance, while serving as a senior voice for the strategic motions in global planning and prioritization.
You will report to our SVP of Marketing and may be based in our Bellevue, WA office (hybrid) or work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is a registered employer.
You Will:
- Own the global strategy for third-party and proprietary events, defining the vision, standards, and playbooks for scalable, high-impact event execution across regions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of event strategists responsible for planning and delivering 30+ annual proprietary and third-party events worldwide.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, Content, Design, Sales, Marketing Operations, and Executive Leadership to align event programs with go-to-market strategy, product launches, and revenue objectives.
- Oversee flagship industry conferences, partner summits, and sponsorship activations—elevating brand presence, thought leadership, and customer engagement at key moments in the buyer journey.
- Manage end-to-end execution of Tier 1 global sponsorship programs, including budget ownership, agency and vendor selection, contract negotiation, production, and on-site delivery.
- Direct high-visibility global activations such as AWS re:Invent and other major industry events, delivering multi-million-dollar influenced pipeline and measurable ROI.
- Collaborate with regional and field marketing teams to localize global event strategies while maintaining brand consistency and operational excellence across markets.
- Establish and evolve performance measurement frameworks leveraging CRM and analytics platforms to track pipeline influence, attendee engagement, and program effectiveness.
- Drive operational rigor by building scalable processes, toolkits, and workflows that improve collaboration, increase efficiency, and support global program growth.
- Identify new event formats, partnerships, and experiential opportunities to continuously innovate and elevate the company’s event marketing approach in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environment.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, using insights and results to inform investment decisions and position event marketing as a core growth engine.
- Lead, mentor and grow a team of global marketing professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
- Ignite a culture of inclusivity, recognizing the strengths that individuals bring to the team to promote engagement and development opportunities.
- Support other responsibilities as assigned.
You Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
- 12+ years of marketing experience at a B2B company, preferably in enterprise software.
