MCP Connector Controls in Admin Center, now generally available!

September 2, 2026

System Administrators can now independently enable or deactivate each MCP connector (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Amazon Q), SmartAssist, and public MCP server access — right from Admin Center. A deactivated connector won't authenticate for that platform, regardless of what a user has configured in their own AI assistant, and every change is audit-logged.

This gives IT and security teams a concrete, auditable control point for AI connector policy: allow the AI ecosystems you trust and block the ones you don't, instead of an all-or-nothing switch. The controls enforce the Smartsheet side of the connection and take effect at next authentication — they don't reveal or override settings inside third-party AI tools. Learn more
