Today we’re introducing a Seat Request feature that gives users a better way to request elevated access. This feature also lets Smartsheet System Admins maintain full control and get time back thanks to two streamlined approval workflow options:
- Option 1: Native Seat Request – Users can submit Member seat requests directly in Smartsheet, and System Admins can review and manage these requests in Admin Center
- Option 2: Custom Redirect – System Admins can choose to redirect users to a form or system the organization already uses to manage seat requests
Seat Request is available on user model plans and there is no additional cost to use either option.
System Admins have 14 days to select their preferred request management option before users start getting notifications. If no selection is made during this 14-day period, the system will default to the native seat request option (Option 1). Admins can change the Member seat request setting at any time in Admin Center.
